Manaslu (8156m) itself is the eighth highest mountain in the world. It was climbed first time by Japanese expedition team in 1952. The name is this mountain come from the Sanskrit word. Manaslu means intellect as per most common translations. During the trek the around Manaslu in 1950, Jimmy Roberts and his friends had photographed as the survey of Japanese expedition. Manaslu trekking is one of the popular trekking in Nepal. Manaslu circuit trek lies western part of Nepal. This trail is recognized as Manaslu trekking or Larke Pass trekking which traverses two conservation’s areas- Manaslu Conservation Area and Annapurna Conservation Area Project as well. It’s opened in 1991 for trekkers and it’s considered as controlled trekking area in Nepal. Mount Manaslu base camp trekking offers pristine mountain views, beautiful landscape, lush valleys, combination of cultural heritage, Manaslu or Larke Pass trail joins finally with Annapurna trekking trail. Also Manaslu circuit trekking provides spectacular beauty along the border of Nepal and Tibet. Manaslu region trekking required special trekking permit through government registered trekking agency of Nepal as it is controlled area. Normally March, April, May, September, October and November are the best moments of trekking.

Best season for Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek: October- till first week of December and from the last week of February to May.
Highest elevation of the circuit: 5160m at Larke Pass top.
Minimum group size required: 2 people and normally, we can be done tea house trekking in Manaslu.
Required Manaslu trekking permits: Special trekking permits for Manaslu Circuit trek, Special permits for Tsum Valley trekking, Manaslu Conservation Area Permit, Trekking Information Management System permits which are obligatorily issued by local registered trekking agency and trekking License holder guide should be hired with their local insurance. As well as trekkers need to have Annapurna Conservation Area permits as they cross through.
Trek ending point: Manaslu trekking ends at different points- It can be ended at Dharapani, at Jagat or Bahundanda, Bulbule or at Beshisahar. It depends on your time period of Holiday’s.
Starts: Manaslu Larke Pass trekking or Manaslu Circuit treks starts now from Soti Khola even it used to starts from Arughat, Land transportation from Kathmandu to Soti khola by passing Arughat. We quite the trail of Manaslu Classic trek to the right direction to Lokpa, Chumling to Mu Gumba- the last settlement of Tsum Valley trekking.
Ethnicity and Locale lifestyle: Manaslu region is divided in two parts in the cultural and ethnicity aspects- Laprak-Barpak, Machakhola, Jagat up to Chisopani-Filim villages are in lower part and a part of Nubri, Chekomparo, Samagaon, Samdo villages are in upper part of the entire trekking. Lower part villages are well dominated by Gurung ethnic groups and others are Brahmin-Kshetri, etc as upper villages are dominated by Nubri people even they are called Gurung, too. Gurungs from lower part, are motivated by both of religion- Hinduism and Buddhism as they believe on both of them but significantly, people from upper part, are believed on solo religion Tibetan Buddhism so, we can find time to time Tibetan culture motivation since the beginning of their origin and civilization. Engagement in Gorkha military service or Nepal military service, traditionally developed agriculture, trade and tourism business are main occupation of lower belt people as upper belt people are agriculture based and Tibeto-Nepal trading, Yak and mouton herding based livelihood. Both them have their mother tongue whenever they communicate in official language Nepali.
